Description

The Mars project
Mars Explorer with 3 main modules
When designing or drawing, I have made sure that this design is actually built and transported. The space ship consists of 3 main modules.
1. The Landfähre, Terra One
2. The orbit module Rebus
3. The propulsion unit and the previously installed modules of the Marsstation (Habitat)
All modules are only so hard that you can be shot with a Saturn rocket into the orbit to be assembled there. The total length of the ship would be 112 meters after the assembly.
After the flight to Mars, the ship would completely divide itself. The tractor a controllable unit would bring all parts (habitat parts and equipment) which should land on the Mars to the atmosphere and land like the previous Marssonden, these with the help of parachutes. The crew (6-10 persons) would land with the terrestrial Terra-0ne on Mars. The Rebus module remains in the orbit and is intended as a station and docking unit for subsequent missions. So you can control the supply for the Marsstation and does not always need ferries to land. This makes reusable boosters and the cost of the subsequent mission much cheaper.

Actually a really cool design, although I found myself thinking about a long-range spacecraft meant for trips to the outer edge of the Sol System, with that rotating habitat ring and all. Would probably need more propellant tanks for that, though.
